The pulp product was hot as expected reaching nearly 60 degrees, a great indication as to whether grinding was taking place.
Simple as it sounds, but I believe in metallurgy that if you can see what is going on then you are just a little better off than before. I was happy to be able to look into the mill.
Simpler installation with a much smaller footprint.
Hydraulic driven shaft – much less hassle if things go wrong and cheaper I am sure. (try repairing a 2,2mW VSD)
The variable range of speeds is also larger with hydraulics and it was easy to select different speeds this will be huge advantage for mill start ups.
Small impeller blades for maintenance, you don’t need three people to take it off.
Wear of “casing” or cylinder should be more even because of vertical installation
Maintenance is much easier as you just pull the mechanism out and replace it with another. Huge downtime savings.
Simple grinding media hopper and gravity loading system. (Gets complicating and costly when you have to put it into a closed system like horizontal tumbling mills)
