Born in Brisbane in 2008, Deswik is a global mining software and consulting company that has grown into a team of over 450 experienced mining professionals, software engineers and mathematicians spread across the globe.

Our head office is one of Brisbane's largest software hubs, with a growing software team of over 170.

We produce some of the leading products in our market and have a large and engaged end user community

Your focus will be to

  • Interact with clients and collaborate with a passionate multi-discipline team of professionals to meet client needs.
  • Design and implement data architectures using AWS services  
  • Define data models, pipelines, and integration frameworks to support data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access.  
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate data strategy into architecture and design patterns.  
  • Establish best practices for data governance, metadata management, and data security in a cloud and hybrid environment.  
  • Lead architectural reviews, data solution assessments, and technology evaluations.  
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and developers.

Technical Skills

You are an experienced Data Architect who has a strong track record designing and delivering complex data solutions and migrations.
  • Expert experience in AWS environments is essential
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
  • Experience working in a commercial cloud-based software product
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical problems and solutions to various stakeholders across the business
  • Project Management and/or Change Management certifications a bonus
