As a Mining Consultant – ORB at Deswik, you'll work alongside experienced mining engineers, consultants, and software specialists, supporting world leading underground caving operations to solve complex challenges and unlock greater value from their assets using Deswik’s ORB software solution.
This is an opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of commodities, mine types, and operational environments while developing your expertise in mine planning, operational execution, and mining technology. Working across a variety of consulting and software implementation projects, you'll learn from industry experts, build strong client relationships, and develop a unique blend of technical, operational, and commercial skills
Support the delivery of mining consulting projects across a diverse range of customer operations and industries.
Analyse mining and operational data to identify insights, support decision-making and contribute to project outcomes.
Assist with operational improvement initiatives and technical consulting engagements.
Collaborate with experienced consultants to deliver high-quality project outcomes, reports and recommendations for customers.
Build a strong understanding of mining processes and Deswik software solutions to provide effective customer support and guidance.
Develop trusted relationships with customers by delivering professional service and helping maximise the value of Deswik products.
Assist with software implementation projects, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting and customer onboarding activities.
Deliver training and technical support to customers, helping them improve capability and adopt best-practice workflows.
Work closely with Product Management and Software Development teams to provide customer feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of Deswik's solutions.
Support broader business initiatives through knowledge sharing, product demonstrations, marketing activities and occasional travel to customer sites across Australia and internationally
Qualifications in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Geology, or a related technical discipline.
2–5 years' experience in mining, mine planning, engineering, geology, or a related industry environment.
Experience working as a Mining Engineer, Mine Planner, Production Engineer, or in a similar technical role.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage, present and build relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Demonstrated initiative, accountability and a commitment to continuous learning, personal growth and professional development.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
Proven ability to work collaboratively within diverse, high-performing teams while contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align decisions and recommendations to business objectives.
A proactive and innovative mindset, with a focus on identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering value-driven outcomes.
