We are looking for someone with strong foundations in data engineering and data modelling, with enough software awareness to work well inside a product engineering environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Help shape and execute data strategies for cloud-native data platforms in AWS
- Help design and build trusted data models for analytics, integration, lineage and semantic layers
- Design and build reliable ELT/ETL pipelines for analytics and software-to-software data integration patterns
- Support the development of data foundations for SaaS and multitenant applications
- Set and follow coding, testing, observability and CI/CD standards
- Ensure data reliability, security, performance and cost efficiency at scale Work alongside experienced engineers, software professionals and mining specialists
Preferred Technical Skills
- Data modelling: Strong understanding of relational and dimensional modelling. Experience with semantic layers, lineage graph models, Kimball or Data Vault is desirable.
- Cloud-native data engineering: Experience building modern data pipelines, lakehouse patterns and analytical data platforms, preferably on AWS.
- Data integration: Understanding of software-to-software integration patterns, including APIs, events, CDC, batch pipelines and schema evolution.
- Modern data tooling: Experience with tools and formats such as dbt, orchestration tools, Parquet, Iceberg, Glue, Athena, Trino, Kafka, Kinesis or similar.
- Engineering practices: Comfortable with automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability and cost-aware engineering.
- Security and governance: Understanding of access control, auditability, data masking, PII handling and secure data sharing.
- Software product awareness: Desirable experience working in or with software development teams, especially SaaS or multitenant application environments.
- Leadership: roadmap influence, code reviews, stakeholder comms, and the opportunity to mentor early career data engineers.
