As a Senior Mining Consultant – Open Pit, you will own complex mine planning projects, turn technical challenges into practical customer solutions and help mining teams get more from Deswik software. With our client base doubled and momentum still building, this is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced mining engineer who wants technical depth, customer influence and real-world impact.

What You’ll Do

• Own open pit consulting projects across pit, phase and pushback design, haulage optimisation, dump design, production scheduling and life-of-mine planning.
• Partner with mining customers from project scoping through delivery, translating operational challenges into practical software and engineering solutions.
• Deliver Deswik implementations, demonstrations, training and technical support, including on-site work where it creates the best customer outcome.
• Help shape what comes next by contributing to proposals, product improvements, feature scoping, testing and mentoring junior consultants.

What You’ll Bring

• BE/BSc degree or relevant technical qualification, and 5–10+ years of mining engineering experience with significant mine planning exposure.
• Strong open pit or surface mining capability across design, scheduling and life-of-mine planning, with Deswik product experience highly regarded.
• Business-level English and the confidence to make complex technical concepts clear for customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• A proactive, commercially aware and collaborative approach, with the ability to drive independent project work, manage deadlines and travel to customer operations when required.
