Deswik gains international attention
Deswik was awarded the Dermot McManus Award for Leadership and Innovation at the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards last Thursday.
This award comes as a recognition for the company’s innovation capability and international expansion strategy in the face of a challenging business environment. Despite uncertain times in mining markets, with major firms reporting losses and undertaking cost-cutting measures, the mining software company increased its export revenues more than five-fold over the last two financial years. Last year alone, Deswik doubled its export markets to forty countries. With a combined workforce of software developers and mining engineers, Deswik has maintained a focus on pioneering new solutions for its clients through an innovative approach to software development.
“This is a symbolic award for Deswik, as we see innovation as part of our DNA” says Marco Alencar, Deswik Partner Manager. “Most software companies have a very strong focus on their investors’ return, often to the detriment of their customers. We believe innovation is key to customer satisfaction and we place equal emphasis on enhancing our existing platforms whilst developing our future solutions.”
Deswik also ranked as finalist for the Minerals and Energy category and the Business Services category.
The Export Awards ceremony crowned an eventful week for Deswik following a special mention at the Australian Latin American Awards for Business Excellence and a presentation at the METS networking event earlier in the week; where Deswik was invited to share insight into its successful export strategy, notably in Latin America.
Headquartered in Brisbane, Deswik currently has offices in Perth, Calgary, Vancouver, Johannesburg and London. As part of its ongoing expansion strategy, Deswik is due to open offices in the United States, Chile and Russia early next year.
